“You like running in a skirt? Really?” Yes, really, says Kristina Province, Texas Running Company – Sugar Land. Here’s her review of the Pearl Izumi Fly Run Skirt.
As a woman runner, I don’t like to skimp on the feelings of being both comfortable and feminine. In other words, I like to be covered in all the right places, exposing just the right amount of skin. I’ve tried a few different brands of running skirts over the years and would have to say I have now found my favorite: the Pearl Izumi Fly Run Women’s Running Skort.
What I love most about this skirt is that Pearl Izumi changed the typical spandex-type shorts underneath and replaced it with a brief-like lining; they call it a “float liner.”
This helps reduce the need to constantly pull tights down (while in motion) when they ride up. By adding the liners they had to figure out a way to keep the back of the skirt from flapping while running, so they made a “side split.”
This skirt is also ideal for women who are sick of dealing with shorts rubbing the inside of their legs, but who want to avoid capris or 3/4 pants and tights. What’s more, the length of the skirt hits the middle of the thigh.
Go Pearl Izumi!
