Starting at the Bobolink Trailhead off Baseline Road, this route is a flat out-and-back with views of the Flatirons.
This 6.8 mile out-and-back run is one of the easiest in town. Starting at the Bobolink Trailhead parking lot, the route heads south. You’ll run along the paved path first for half a mile, passing the East Boulder Recreation Center, where the run then turns to a well-groomed gravel path. The route climbs ever so gradually, and is barely noticeable on the way out. The first mile comes as the path heads east, towards S. Boulder Road. The route goes under the road, and you’ll run parallel to the road for a bit before heading back south through cow fields.
You’ll run under the Boulder-Denver Turnpike (Hwy 36), where the 2 mile marker awaits you. From here, the route runs along the South Boulder Creek, with great views of the Flatirons to the west.
You’ll reach the turnaround point of the run at the gate off Marshall Road, and retrace your steps back to the start, in the Bobolink Trailhead parking lot.
