Meet Boulder Running Company Floor Manager Greg Weich! Greg has been part of our team for over 17 years, making him one of our most senior staff. His extensive product knowledge and passion for the sport make him a customer favorite.
What do you love about running? I love every aspect of the sport: elite level running, the spirit and fortitude of the average, back-of-the-pack athletes, and watching high school athletes develop. I have passion for spreading my love of the sport to other people.
What is your favorite thing about running and working in Boulder? Boulder obviously has a great trail system, which I really like. The people I work with at the Boulder Running Company are the reason why I have worked here so long. I have a long history with the Boulder/Denver/Broomfield running communities. It is a great place to be a runner and coach!
Tell us about your running history. I started running in 8th grade, continued through high school (Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, CO, where I later took over as head cross country coach for 13 years. While I coached there, I was part of 6 State Championships). After high school I ran cross country and track at Adams State College under the legendary 3-time Olympic distance coach Joe I. Vigil, and have continued to compete in everything from cross country to the marathon (2:35 PR). I currently coach at Broomfield High School, home of the 2013 4A State Cross Country Champions!
