Meet BRC-Cherry Creek Assistant Store Manager Mike Pincus!
Mike has been with Boulder Running Company almost 4 years. Mike has worked at the Boulder location primary and has recently transitioned to the new role at the BRC-Cherry Creek store, which he is super pumped about. Mike is a passionate leader/salesman and loves all things apparel and accessories. He is the best when it comes to knowing the technical details of all the clothing, and is also an excellent shoe fitter.
What do you love about working for BRC? I love running and sports like skiing, hiking, basketball because you can be outside and enjoy nature and competition. I definitely have that competitive nature that makes working in this industry even more awesome. I’ve worked in the specialty retail running/outdoor industry about 8 years overall and always wanted to work for a company like Boulder Running Company. The reputation of the store speaks for itself, and our co-founders stories are very inspirational. Working with some of the athletes I do at Boulder Running Company makes me want to push myself further especially in running and endurance athletics. Who would have thought I would get to be coworkers and friends with World Champion Marathoners, 100/50 Mile Ultra Marathon Winners, talented coaches, and active lifestyle. Overall, I feel pretty special being able to work here.
Tell us about your running history. I’ve been an avid 5K runner my whole life coming from the Midwest. I’ve probably run over 30 with my best time being 24 minutes. My favorite 5K is the Quincy, IL ‘Bridge the Gap Race’ which my Uncle founded. I’ve done the Bolder Boulder 10K three years in a row now and plan on keeping up that tradition alive along with adding some faster times to my resume in the future. I’m an avid skier and have been on the slopes over 25 years now and really enjoy getting up to the mountains as much as possible .
What are your favorite products? Any and every merino wool piece we sell – from Smartwool socks, gloves, and pants to Icebreaker tights, shirts, and gloves. I love it all. I also love the Hoka Stinson Trail and the OPTP Black Foam Roller.
