It has been an up and down winter. This year we have seen some beautiful days and some extremely cold beautiful days. Living on the front range, you accept that the snow will come, melt, and come again. However, the weeks of cold negative degree temperatures have been a test for anyone training for a spring distance race. Today, the wind is blowing hard. I’m itching to go for a run, but never know what to pack in my bag for post-work runs. I have to bring tights/shorts, short sleeve shirt/coat, a few different hat options, and occasionally different shoes. When the winter blows over though, the range has prepared me for whatever the late winter (early spring) race chooses to offer. Mother Nature is inconsistent. We have to accept that, and be consistent with our own training. Sometimes that is all we can control!
