Today’s BRC Sunday Trail Group ran at Lair o’ the Bear. With the exception of the strong winds at the beginning, the weather was decent. We had expected the terrain would be difficult so some of us brought traction. On the way up, I did not use any traction and was running fairly conservatively, even walking at times over over the slick ice.
On the way back down, I decided to put on my Ice Trekkers for extra traction. What a huge difference, I must say! I did what I thought was impossible — I ran on ice and felt completely stable. The Ice Trekkers have what it takes to get you through those icy days. Even though the terrain was tough, it turned out to be a beautiful run. We all rewarded ourselves with a wonderful breakfast gathering afterward.
