Great running book!

Once a Runner

As we get into these colder months, it’s a great time to start working your way through some great books. I know full well people in D.C. aren’t the biggest fans of the cold, so for some extra motivation to get out the door and get a run in on those cold mornings everybody should check out the greatest running book of all-time (that’s a fact, not an opinion), ‘Once a Runner’ by John L. Parker, Jr.

It’s tough to say too much about the book without giving away the plot too much, but I have yet to read anything that captured the essence of what it means to be a runner, to compete, and the work that goes into it better than this. It can be a tough book to find (it used to be, anyways), but if you can track a copy down it’s highly recommended.
