A question we get all the time is ‘what type of shoes do most runners wear?’ The typical answer might be Brooks, Asics or Nike. Increasingly these days, however, the answer is actually Saucony!
Yesterday, Saucony made an announcement that they had moved into the 2nd position in overall market share in running specialty stores with 17 percentage points, second only to Brooks and passing Asics. Proof of this gain can be seen in their shoes, where several of Saucony’s best-selling models have all garnered awards from Runner’s World including the Kinvara 4, which won their ‘Best Update’ award in summer 2013. Saucony also competes in the neutral and stability categories, where their Ride and Guide models are consistently among our top sellers. XC is also a big point of emphasis for the brand, and in 2013, they gave us the Carrera, a 3.9oz XC spike that has been a shot across the bow of the ever-popular Nike Zoom Victory spike.
Saucony is definitely trending up and with the release of their all-new Guide 7 (a release we’re very excited about) and updated Triumph 11 still to come this fall, we only see their success continuing. So next time you’re looking for a new shoe, give Saucony a try and, as their brand motto states, “Find Your Strong”!
