Jersey City Challenge Race will take place on Saturday May 17th, 2014. It will start and finish at Exchange Place. Our inaugural event in Hoboken was successful both in attendance and feedback and we are planning 6 races in 2014: Jersey City, New York, Hoboken, Buffalo, Baltimore, and flirting with Miami. In Hoboken we brought nearly 2000 Challengers, 181 teams were created, high ranking city officials participated, over 90 regionally located gyms took part, and thanks to our event we provided jobs to local residents and brought consumers to local businesses. On this note we are excited to bring City Challenge Obstacle Race to other vibrant communities with jaw dropping sceneries.
The mission of Jersey City Challenge Race is to enable you to have the most exciting day of your life…period. Our events promote fitness and health and are the ultimate opportunity to push your physical and mental limits, have a great time with friends and family, bond with co-workers, and just have an all around great time. Whether young, old, athletic, or just getting off the couch participating in City Challenge will be the most fun ass-kicking of your life!
Register for our race and you’ll get a chance to run our course filled with over 15 obstacles designed to be fun and challenging! This year we have partnered with Matt Lebow who in the past 12 years has worked with companies such as Spartan Race, Civilian Military Combine, Men’s Health urbanathlon, High Rock Challenge and more. With the help of his team we will create a dynamic course. Some of the obstacles will include: walls to get over, water jugs to carry, ropes to climb, monkey bars, and much more. We will not have water, mud, electrocution, or fire at our race. And unlike the other guys, we hate to see back-ups so we limit each wave of runners to 200 racers to avoid overcrowding.
At our events you will be timed and ranked as individuals and teams. You will see how your team ranks versus other Challengers. This year we have added prizes for the top 3 overall finishers in each gender. The prizes will be $1000 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd!
Jersey City Challenge Race will be raising funds and awareness for Susan G Komen for the cure and The Jersey City Department of Recreation. Susan G Komen is dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. The primary aim of The Jersey City Department of Recreation is to oversee the provision of activities that are rich in leisure, culture and physical fitness to the residents of Jersey City. Participants can make donations to these organizations during registration and 100% of your donation will go directly to them. Fun, entertainment, fitness, and helping others combined in one!
