Starting at the Ridgewood Running Company, this route is a loop along the Saddle River.
This mostly flat 5.5 mile loop runs down Ridgewood Avenue the first mile, passing Ridgewood High School within the first half mile. You’ll reach the 1 mile marker at Wild Duck Pond, where you’ll turn left and head towards the Saddle River Pathway. You’ll run parallel to the river for nearly 2.5 miles, running under the trees the whole way. You’ll pass Grove Park near the 3 mile marker, and head northwest at the fork in the trail, heading towards the Glen Rock Area Tennis Courts just before 4 miles. From there, the run hits the road, as you’ll head up Prospect, eventually turning right on Mapleton, which is also the 5 mile marker. The run ends back at the start, at the Ridgewood Running Company.
