Do You Believe in Miracles? + Thursday Trivia Challenge

Thanks to everyone who has been to our store this week. We are still in the midst of our renovation, so we appreciate your patience. There’s a lot of dust, and one-quarter of the store is blocked off, but our new stockroom is almost ready to go and it will hold about 50% more inventory. What does that mean for you? We will be able to stock more styles, from more manufacturers, than ever before.Pardon our Dust sign More shoes, more clothes, more accessories. As always, please let us know if there is anything you are looking for and we will always try to get it in.

In the meantime, our legendary shoe wall will be back in all its glory next week… Do you believe in miracles? YES! Which brings us to the theme of this week’s Thursday Trivia Challenge…

USA defeats USSR 4-3!

USA defeats USSR 4-3!

First, we congratulate Jin Chan, who knew that the Beatles’ last concert was at Candlestick Park in San Francisco on August 29, 1966. Jin, you are the proud owner of a New York Running Company t-shirt, so come on in. This week’s question salutes the 1980 US Olympic Hockey Team, who achieved the great “Miracle on Ice” when they beat the mighty Russian team. This victory was marked by the legendary call, referenced above, by Al Michaels. Here’s the question: What team did the United States team beat two days later to win the gold medal? Send your answer to newyork@run.com (put “Trivia” in the heading). We will pick one person at random from all the correct answers we receive. Good luck, and remember to root for both our Women’s and Men’s Olympic hockey teams this week, as they GO FOR THE GOLD!
