Random Trivia Tuesday

We take our New York pride very seriously here at New York Running Company, especially when our store was flooded with visitors from around the world before and after the NYC Marathon last week.

We also think we’re pretty smart around here, not just about running shoes and apparel. But we’ll admit we were humbled by a young foliage-minded visitor from England who stumped us recently.

“What is the official tree of New York?” he asked.

Well, somehow one of us came up with the right answer, the Sugar Maple tree. And while we were at it, we looked up other official state designations. . . the official flower? Rose.  Official fruit? Apple.  State motto? Excelsior.

So now it’s up to you to show us how smart you are about our Empire State.  What is the official bird of New York?

Send your answer to newyork@run.com and we’ll pick a winner at random. You’ll win a pack of Running Company socks, and the admiration of all of us here at New York Running Company.
