The Mamaroneck Turkey Trot takes off this Sunday, November 24th, at 10:15 am. It is a 5k race and there is also a 1 mile kids’ fun run that starts at 9:45. Adults running the 1 mile with their children/child do not have to register. The course is hailed as the flattest and fastest course in Westchester and starts on Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck near the intersection of Library Lane and runs down the Post Road, into Orienta, and back to Harbor Island. It is hosted by the New Ro Runners and scored by NYCRuns.
Plenty of water will be available at the finish line, but there is usually none on the course. The awards ceremony will be held immediately after the race in the Pavilion along with hot turkey soup.
Baby strollers, jogging strollers or pets are not allowed.
For those who pre-register the fee is $25, $20 for New Ro Runners members, and packet pickup is located at the recreation office at the Beach Pavilion at Harbor Island at the following times:
Oct 21-Nov 22: 9:00-3:00
Nov 23: 9:00-11:00
Race Day: 8:15-9:15
Day of registration is $40 and can be done from 8:15-9:15 on race morning at the Harbor Island Pavilion.
