For our first group run since the fall time change, we enlisted the help of Brooks Running to give us some much needed visibility on the streets of Richmond. Despite the darkness and a chilly night, we had a great turnout with many new faces joining us for a nice, easy run. We split the runners into three groups, with two of the groups running 6.5 miles, and the other going 4. Altogether, we had runners training for the Turkey Trot 10k, the Richmond Marathon/Half Marathon/8k, and of course a few who came for the free beer!
This Monday was also the last group run with our local Brooks Guru, Tobias “Toblerone” Rollinson, who has been a huge help to our group runs over the past year. Toby will be heading to work at Brooks headquarters in Seattle, WA, where he will be training the next generation of Brooks Gurus. To thank him for his time with us, we had an array of treats waiting for us when we got back from the run, including a cake from the Ukrop’s bakery and, of course, a variety of Toblerones!
