Meet your Yoga Instructor at the Gateway!
I am a 300 hour Professional Yoga Teacher and Registered Nurse, who has been practicing yoga consistently since 2004. I also have a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of MN. With my technical background, I like to incorporate evidence-based techniques when I teach yoga. Research on the therapeutic use of yoga is exploding, and I couldn’t be happier.
My first experience with yoga was at age 16, when my mom told me I needed something to do with myself because I was “driving her nuts.” It was the middle of winter in rural MN, and I was between seasons of sports that usually kept me occupied. I noticed immediately that there was something different abut doing yoga that I couldn’t quite articulate, but that feeling kept me coming back to the mat.
A consistent yoga practice can look very different at different times in your life, but it can give you so many practical tools that you can use on a daily basis to help navigate your life.
Everyone can and should do yoga – and I am excited to share my knowledge with you!
